Love Onion: 

From afar, Love Onion looks like just another dirty root vegetable. But slice that baby open and you’ll find a loving heart surrounded by an emotional support system of vitamin C, calcium and iron. And that's a fact. Love Onion fills your nostrils with fragrant umami and makes your eyes well up with giggle-tears. Based on the audience suggestion, this Washington Improv Theater House Ensemble creates a new format each show that explores that suggestion through the themes, structure and editing that develops in the first couple scenes. It could stay in one room or explore the universe; it could be familiar or utterly bonkers; it could use some salt or be well-seasoned. We don't know where we're going, but we're damn excited to get there.

Love Onion has performed at the Del Close Marathon, the District Improv Festival, the Downtown Raleigh Improv Festival and the Baltimore Improv Festival.

The ladies of SKORT met during their training at iO and have been performing together since late 2014. Their collaboration grew out of a shared appreciation for smart, patient, off-kilter comedy (and versatile womenswear). These ladies have performed at the Chicago Women's Funny Fest, Compass Improv Festival, Chicago Improv Festival & most recently the Out of Bounds Comedy Festival in Austin, TX. A Chicago Improv Den house team, SKORT also regularly plays at venues across Chicago, including The Second City, iO, The Playground, Stage 773, and CIC theater.
