STAGE 773 (The Pro) $20
1225 W Belmont AVE Chicago, IL 60657
The 2017 Chicago Improv Festival is dedicated to the memory of improviser-actor-writer-teacher Judy Fabjance, who spent all of her life performing and teaching improvisation from her teen-age years until she passed away in 2016. Judy connected with, entertained, and inspired many, many people of all ages and of all walks of life in her artistic career.
To honor Judy's lifework, CIF is having a Judy Fabjance Celebration Night on Saturday, April 1 at 7pm in Stage 773's Pro Theatre. CIF's co-founder and executive producer Jonathan Pitts will present a posthumous "CIF Lifetime Achievement Award" for Judy to Judy's widow Kelly Beeman.
This will be followed by a hilarious and touching fully improvised show in which alumni and cast members of GayCo (Judy was an alumni), as well as cast members from Annoyance Theater's LBGTQ improv ensemble Baby Wine, and other improvisers from Chicago's LBGTQ community all improvise together in a storytelling format called a LesBiGay Armando. The guest storyteller is David Fink, the curator of the monthly LBGTQ storytelling night OUTspoken!
